Our History
In the late 1980’s as the population in southern Harris County began to boom, the local Baptist church leaders recognized the need for a new church for a growing community. They began laying the groundwork and a church planter, Rev. Daryl Price came and began home Bible studies and Backyard Bible Clubs in 1995. In 1996, land was donated and a mobile chapel moved to the property. A permanent facility was begun in 1998 and was completed in March 1999.
As the church continued to grow and become established, members were added and ministry was expanded. In the fall of 2002, Brother Daryl, the church planter and pastor resigned to become a church planting consultant with the Georgia Baptist Convention. After a nearly two-year interim period with Rev. Jimmie Willis, the church called Rev. Brad Parker as its new pastor in August 2004.
Throughout its history as a church, Hunter Road has always displayed a commitment to missions both near and far. From local ministries with inmates, the homeless, and internationals to recent mission trips to eight different states to partnerships with churches and missionaries around the world, HRBC desires to be used in advancing the cause of Christ.
